Dental Acupuncture Near Mount Kisco, NY
Natural Pain & Anxiety Relief
Acupuncture is an age-old technique used to relieve pain and anxiety. It works with your body’s own pain control mechanisms, stimulating the release of endorphins that block pain signals in the brain. It is so effective that we have some patients who prefer acupuncture treatment over a local anesthetic. Many patients are more comfortable with a local anesthetic and acupuncture used as an adjunct. For some, we will use acupuncture in combination with nitrous oxide and/or oral sedation. As a holistic dental practice, we also use acupuncture near Mount Kisco, NY, in other ways.
Your Mouth & its Relationship With Your Whole Body
Conditions in your mouth have a direct effect on your whole-body health. Disruptions to the flow of energy through your mouth may affect remote regions of your body and disruptions elsewhere may manifest in your mouth. These relationships are a result of communication between the Acupuncture Meridians and your teeth. We will treat your mouth considering the dental acupuncture relationships with your whole body.
As an experienced holistic dentist and dental acupuncturist, Dr. Lerner will screen you for sensitivity to materials in your teeth as well as for potential sensitivity to materials we may use during your treatment. He uses Applied Kinesiology on acupuncture points to determine if your body might respond adversely to the material.
When appropriate, we can also order blood tests such as a BioComp Screening for sensitivity to dental materials. This is similar to the Clifford Test, which is unavailable in the state of New York.
